A Harvest of Friends


Synopsis:
The Ingalls family settle outside the small town Walnut Grove. Pa takes on several jobs to be able to make enough money - but falls down a tree and is injured.
Carrie moments:
- Carrie climbs up the ladder to the loft.
- Carrie asks for more molasses at breakfast.
- On the picnic there’s a scene very similar to the opening sequence - with the three girls running down a hill, and Carrie falling.

Country Girls


Synopsis:
Mary and Laura start school! For the parents’ visitors day they need to each write an essay.
Carrie moments:
- Showing her hands, and turning around, just like Mary and Laura during Ma’s inspection.
- When Mary and Laura go off to school, Carrie tries to run after them.
- When Mary and Laura get their new dresses, Carrie says (most likely) that she wants a new dress for her doll.
- Carrie is making her doll clap her hands during parent’s visitors day.

100 Mile Walk


Synopsis:
After a hailstorm ruins the crop, Charles leaves Walnut Grove to find a job elsewhere, and together with two new friends he find a dangerous new job.
Carrie moments:
- Carrie seems to be having fun when the family is making a list of all the new things they’re going to buy - including a rocking horse for Carrie!
- Poor Carrie is so afraid during the storm…

Mr. Edward’s Homecoming


Synopsis:
Mr. Edwards returns, and decides to settle in Walnut Grove - especially after he has met Grace Snyder.
Carrie moments:
- Carrie is really happy to see Mr. Edwards again! Watch how she copies him at the dinner table…

The Love of Johnny Johnson


Synopsis:
Laura falls for Johnny Johnson - who only has eyes for Mary - who in turn is not at all interested in Johnny.
Carrie moments:
- Dancing with Mary and Laura, while Pa plays the fiddle. And then asking him to play some more!
- Carrie gets into an argument with Mary. Mary wants her to learn to write, but Carrie wants to draw pictures instead.

If I Should Wake Before I Die


Synopsis:
Miss Amy decides to fake her own death to get her children to come visit her, knowing that people think it is OK to miss a birthday but not a funeral.
Carrie moments:
- Sitting in Mary’s knee while they are singing with Laura, Ma and Miss Maddie.
- Miss Amy explains to Carrie about death and funerals.
- Watch Carrie walk back and fourth in the wagon - copying Pa!
- Helping Ma peal the eggs.
- Dancing with Mr. Oleson at the “wake”.

Town Party Country Party


Synopsis:
At Nellie’s birthday party Laura makes friends with Olga - who has one leg that’s shorter than the other and therefore can’t run like the other kids. Later Mary and Laura get to have a party of their own, and invite all their friends…and Nellie…
Carrie moments:
- Carrie is making apple fritters - while Ma, Laura and Carrie are talking about Nellie’s party .
- Eating corn at dinner with a big appetite!
- Whispering with Laura and Olga - the three of them seem to get along great!
- Calling Goodbye to Nellie as she leaves the party.

Ma’s Holiday



Synopsis:
When Grace Snyder can’t watch the Ingalls girls while Charles and Caroline are going to Mankato for a few days, the girls instead ask Mr. Edwards. Laura and Mary aren’t too thrilled with Mr. Edwards cooking - and Carrie is sure giving Mr. Edwards a difficult time watching her!
Carrie moments:
This episode is just filled with wonderful Carrie moments! Here are some of them:
- When Mr. Edwards isn’t able to convince Carrie to eat her dinner, Laura instead gives Carrie the spoon - and Carrie puts the spoon filled with food in Mr. Edwards face.
- Carrie is crying in the middle of the night since she is hungry, but when Mr. Edwards has fixed her something to eat Carrie is already asleep again.
- Mr. Edwards ties Carrie up with a clothing line (and later nails her dress to the roof) in order to keep track of her.
- Carrie gets very upset when Mr. Edwards is reading her a bedtime story - since he’s not reading it the right way.
- Carrie takes out lots of plates and pans from the cupboard - and puts on of them on her head like a hat.

School Mom


Synopsis:
Caroline is asked to teach when Miss Beadle has hurt her ankle. She decides to help Abel - who is older and bigger than the other kids, but who can’t read.
Carrie moments:
- Carrie runs to meet Ma when she comes home from the school - and we learn the Nelsons has been watching her (but the Nelson family never appear on the show).

The Racoon


Synopsis:
Mary gives Laura a racoon, whom she names Jasper. But Pa doesn’t think a racoon is a suitable pet - and he will end up being right.
Carrie moments:
- Patting the racoon, while Laura holds him - she seems completely unafraid of him.
- Waiting in the wagon with Mary, while Laura is at the doctor’s.
- Mary is reading Carrie a story - she must be doing a better job than poor Mr. Edwards, cause Carrie seems to really love it!

The Voice of Thinker Jones


Synopsis:
The idea to get a bell for the church ends up dividing the people of Walnut Grove. But Tinker Jones decides to make a bell, with the help of the children.
Carrie moments:
- Poor Carrie looks so sad when Laura and Mary get their beautiful toy horses from Tinker - but when he gives her a toy fish she’s happy! (It doesn’t really seem fair though, does it? )

The Award


Synopsis:
The children are having a special test - and Mary is determined to win the price. But when she by accident starts a fire in the barn while studying, Ma get furious and tells her she’s not allowed to be in the contest. Then Mary notices that the book she borrowed from Miss Beadle was ruined in the fire….
Carrie moments:
- Ma is teaching Carrie the alphabet - and it looks like Carrie is also writing the letters when she says them. She stops when Mary and Laura come home, but when Laura whispers something to her she continues.
- Carrie is pretending that the big log outside the house is a horse - it must have been perfect for playing games like that!

The Lord Is My Shepherd (2 parts)



Synopsis:
When a baby brother - Charles Frederick - is born, Laura becomes jealous, and when the boy gets sick she refuses to pray for him. But when the little boy dies, Laura is feeling terribly guilty, and decides to make a deal with God.
Carrie moments:
- Carrie’s thrilled to be a big sister! She calls the baby her dolly!
- When Laura has disappeared, Carrie asks if she’s with her brother (who’s now dead) - which of course upsets Caroline.

Christmas At Plum Creek



Synopsis:
It’s the family’s first Christmas at Plum Creek, and everyone is trying to figure out a way to get great presents for the others - but they only have very little money.
Carrie moments:
- Carrie asking Pa what Christmas is.
- Carrie finding a penny in her box (most likely the penny she got for Christmas in The Premiere Movie), and goes to town with Laura to buy a beautiful star (which Mr. Oleson lets her buy for her penny - even though it’s really costs much more) - as a present for Baby Jesus. On Christmas Pa helps her put it on the top of the Christmas tree, and Carrie looks up at it and says “Happy Birthday, Baby Jesus!” - it‘s one of the sweetest Prairie moments ever!

Family Quarrel


Synopsis:
When Nels moves into the hotel, after a big fight with Harriet, and Harriet decides to move back east with Nellie and Willie, the people of Walnut Grove decide to try to help the Olesons.
Carrie moments:
- Nels seems very happy to see Carrie in this episode! And she seems to really like him too.

Doctor’s Lady


Synopsis:
Mrs Oleson’s niece Kate comes for a visit, and Mrs. Oleson thinks she and Doc Baker are getting along a bit too well…
Carrie moments:
- Episode does not contain many scenes with Carrie…

Plague


Synopsis:
When several people around Walnut Grove beome very sick, the people must face the possibility of a plague. But when there seems to be no connection between the people who have become sick, how will they before to find the source of the plague?
Carrie moments:
- When Pa stops buy for a visit the whole family runs out to see him - but Carrie is of course stuck in her highchair. She doesn’t’ seem to mind too much though - in fact she can see right out the door from where she’s sitting.

Circus Man


Synopsis:
O’Hara - who runs a very small circus - is staying with the Ingalls’ family for a while. He has a secret powder, which he claims can cure anyone - a claim that really upsets Doctor Baker.
Carrie moments:
- When Jack is ill, Ma, Mary and Carrie are sitting at the table at night. Carrie seems to actually be reading a book! At least she’s looking at it very seriously…

Child Of Pain


Synopsis:
When the people of Walnut Grove find out a boy is being abused by his drunk father, the Ingalls family decide to try to help both the boy and the father. While the boy is staying with Caroline and the girls, Charles is going to be stying with the boy‘s father.
Carrie moments:
- Look how happy Carrie looks when she (along with the rest of the family) is waving good-bye at the end!

Money Crop


Synopsis:
Joe Coulter - new in Walnut Grove - has persuaded his neighbours to start growing corn, and goes alone to Minneapolis to buy the seeds. But when he doesn’t return, his neighbours think he has stolen their money, and take out their anger on his pregnant wife.
Carrie moments:
- Rosemary (one of the guests at the party in “Town Party Country Party”) seems to be the one watching Carrie in the beginning of the episode.

Survival



Synopsis:
On the way home from Mankato the Ingalls family are caught in a blizzard, and find shelter in a small deserted cabin. Soon they are joined by a marshal who’s looking for an Indian - the same Indian that’s been helping them.
Carrie moments:
- When playing Simon Says with her sisters and Ma, Carrie does something that Simon didn’t say - but Carrie says that Mama said it!

To See The World

Synopsis:
Johnny Johnson decides to quit school, and heads out to see the world. He convinces Mr. Edwards to let him come with him on his trip to Mankato.
Carrie moments:
- EPISODE WITHOUT CARRIE

Founder’s Day


Synopsis:
Charles has trouble getting along with the new man he’s working with. Walnut Grove is celebrating Founder’s Day, and the whole family participates in different contests - as does the Oleson family.
Carrie moments:
- Although she’s not in any of the contests, Carrie seems to really enjoy Founder’s Day .
