In memory of Merlin Olsen
September 15, 1940 - March 11, 2010
I was so saddened by the tragic death of Merlin Olsen. Although mostly famous as a football player, for me he will always be Jonathan Garvey on "Little House on the Prairie".
He was a really talented actor, who added something special to the show. Joining the show after popular Victor French had left can not have been easy, but Merlin did a wonderful job as the Ingalls' new neighbour and Charles' friend. Often described as "a friendly giant", he seemed like a truely kind and wonderful person.
He will always be remember for his wonderful portrayal of Jonathan, as well as for the rest of his amazing career.
Rest in Peace, Merlin Olsen - you will be remembered!
Merlin you will remain on the bottom of our heart; all of them like me enjoyed
folling how you were the best unconditional partner of Charles Ingalls on "Little
House on the Prairie". God Bless your soul for ever,
Merlin, we will miss you, but will not forget you. You are in our hearts. You'll always be Jonathan Garvey! My deepest sympathy to the family.
