Matthew Cammelle studied drama at University of Hull (United Kingdom). Between 1993 and 1998 he played a number of characters in the London production of Les MisÚrables. He started out as Jean Prouvaire (1993-1994), then went on to play Feuilly (1994-1995), Marius (1995-1996) and finally Enjolras (most of the time alternating) (1997-1998). During 1993-1995 he was also the understudy for the part of Marius. Matt also played Enjolras in the Scandinavian concert tour (2002). In the Les MisÚrables 10th Anniversary Concert (1995) he was chosen to play Feuilly.
In 1999-2003 Matt played Raoul in the London production of The Phantom of the Opera, and since 2004 he has been the standby for The Phantom. In the 1998 National Tour he played Raoul.
Matt has also appeared in West Side Story, Martin Guerre, The Rocky Horror Show, Aspects of Love, Follies, Oscar: The Musical, All My Sons and Something Wonderful.
