Halcro Johnston[Biography] [Pictures]
Halcro Johnston was born Aberdeenshire (United Kingdom), and was a student at Aberdeen University, and The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
He started out as an opera singer, performing with the Scottish Opera, La Scala (Milan) and at the Edinburgh International Festival, and then went on to the musical stage in London’s West End. Halcro first appeared in The South Pacific, and then in 1989-1990 he played Brujon in the London production of Les Misérables, and in the 10th Anniversary Concert he played Farmer. He has also starred in Matador, Fame, Oliver!, Kiss of the Spider Woman and Beauty and the Beast.
Halcro is part of the ensemble of the 2006 London production of Evita.
Halcro has also been in the national tours of Oliver! (which also played in Canada), My Fair Lady, Jesus Christ Superstar and 42nd Street, as well as the Belgium-Netherlands tour of Scrooge.
He has also starred in several plays (including The Life of Galileo), and done a number of television appearances, for instance at the Olivier Awards. He has also guest starred on The Bill, and in 2004 he played Passirino in the movie The Phantom of the Opera.
