Michael Sterling was born in Wales. He studied at the Guilford School of Arts, and he has also taken singing lessons from the operatic tenor Allun Davies.
Mike played the part of Feuilly (and was also the understudy for Enjolras) in Les MisÚrables (London, 1991-1992), and then went on to play Marius (Manchester 1992, London, 1992-1993) and Jean Valjean (2002). He has also played Combeferre at the Chelmsford open air concert (1997). In 1995 Mike was chosen to play Lesgles in the Les MisÚrables Tenth Anniversary Concert.
In London, Mike has also played Raoul in The Phantom of the Opera (1997-1998), and then the part of the Phantom (1999). He also played Raoul in the Manchester production and the Phantom in the Edinburgh and Southampton productions. Mike has also appeared in Deathtrap, Dick Whittington, Guys and Dolls and The Fantasticks.
In 1996 Mike had his own TV series - Michael Sterling's Music Forum, and in 1998 he released a solo album called This is the Moment.
